The Alpine Ski World Cup came into being on the 21st January at Kitzbühel’s Seidlalm. The “birth” of this event exactly 50 years is celebrated not only with a special exhibition in the museum. As part of the 76th Hahnenkamm Races, K.S.C. hosted discussions with contemporary witnesses of the period on Wednesday evening within the historic walls of Kitzbühel Museum. Sports scientist and K.S.C. President, Michael Huber introduced the discussions, which were led by ORF sportswriter, Fred Lentsch, with Olga Pall-Scartezzini, Austria’s first female Downhill World Cup winner, Hanni Wenzel, 33-time World Cup winner and two-time winner of the Liechtenstein Overall World Cup, Hansi Hinterseer, the first Austrian Slalom World Cup champion, and double Overall World Cup winner, Stephan Eberharter (29 individual  victories).
