Hirscher defeated, Kristoffersen wins the Slalom

21.01.2018

Nerve tingling to the very last second: the 2018 Hahnenkamm Slalom could not have been more suspenseful.

Marcel Hirscher is back on the podium – but not quite at the top.

“Today wasn’t an easy day. My run was adequate and I reached my maximum.”

With 90 hundredths of a second lead and a run at breakneck speed, Henrik Kristoffersen beat the “constant winner” Hirscher, who landed in second place. After the first run, it seemed as though Michael Matt would also have a say in the fight for today’s “Gams” trophy. However, he slipped up and was eliminated from the second run. Therefore, our Slalom winners are Kristoffersen, Hirscher and Swiss racer Daniel Yule in third place, who can now celebrate the first podium finish of his career.
