Media evening with photographer award

18.01.2024

Photographer Christian Bruna was honoured at the Hahnenkamm Races media evening at Hotel Tiefenbrunner. He won the 6th AIJS photo competition "Prix Armando Trovati" with his photo of the 2023 Downhill training.

After the two training sessions at the start of the week and countless engagements, briefings and interviews, many journalists took advantage of Wednesday evening to attend the traditional media evening at Hotel Tiefenbrunner in the city centre and talk shop in a relaxed atmosphere. Around 600 media representatives from 30 nations from the print, online, TV and radio sectors are accredited to report on the 84th Hahnenkamm Races, including 25 TV stations.

The award for photographer Christian Bruna was a highlight of the media evening. The man from Lower Austria works for EPA (European Pressphoto Agency) and took a now award-winning picture on the Streif on 17th January 2023: it shows Marco Odermatt shortly before the start during training - twice thanks to a reflection. As a result, Christian Bruna won the 6th AIJS "Prix Armando Trovati" photo competition. The prize is named after the Italian photographer Armando Trovati, who passed away in 2017. The competition is open to all photographers who were accredited for at least one FIS World Cup race during the current season.

At the media evening, Christian Bruna was congratulated among others by Pierre Teyssot, Vice President of the AIJS (Association Internationale des Journalistes de Ski) and Wolfgang Leiter, Head of Press for the Hahnenkamm Races.
