Teamwork at the Hahnenkamm Races

There has been a notable change at the 2018 Hahnenkamm Races with regards to medical services. For the very first time, the Red Cross and “Samariterbund” (Samaritans’ association) will be working together. This novel cooperation began at the Biathlon World Championships in Hochfilzen, where their organizational support was greatly appreciated.

“As organizers of the event, it’s our job to ensure we have the best medical service for athletes and spectators”

...OC Chief Michael Huber reports. “Now a great cooperation between the Red Cross and ‘Samariterbund’ has emerged.” Both associations take pride in their experienced local staff, and have coordinated their training programme to the same level. Gerhard Czappek, director of the Tyrolean “Samariterbund”, highlights the advantages: “We can now better focus our energy and save resources, such as accommodation – all while maintaining our quality of service.” District Director of Red Cross Kitzbühel, Daniel Hofer, sees everything positively:

“By working together, we can now offer visitors to the Hahnenkamm Races the very best of services.”
